5 SIMPLE CHANGES WE CAN MAKE TO BETTER OURSELVES AND THE WORLD!
Life in general can sometimes be a very lonely road though it shouldn’t be. Then comes our Christian journey where you sometimes find out people put on a facade and wear a mask in order to seem to have it all together. Many people are hurting and broken and need empowerment in order to come out of the bondage or troubles they are dealing with. It is therefore important to be kind, not just to ourselves, but also to others because we just don’t know what issues people are dealing with.
Here are 5 simple changes that you can implement.
START YOUR DAY RIGHT
Prayer and fellowship with God is by far one of the most important things a Christian can and should do. It is necessary to start your day right by praying daily and reading His word because not only does it build you up spiritually but when you start your day right there is nothing that can come your way that you cant face. So as Psalm 63 says Seek Him early and thirst for Him continuously.
Psalm 121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
DO ACTS OF KINDNESS
You do not do kind acts to get recognition, we do them because it tells us in Matt 5:42 “Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.” However we do not only give because someone has asked, we are kind and do acts of kindness because it tells us in Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
WORK ON YOUR DREAMS
Every one has something they are passionate about and desire to achieve. The word of God tells us in Psalm 37:4 that if we delight ourselves in the Lord, he will give us the desires of our heart. But everything has to begin with Him and in Him as we read in Proverbs 16:3 Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. Last but not least unless you seek first His Kingdom and righteousness, all is in vain including whatever plans, goals and dreams.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
CONNECT WITH LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE
Don’t exclude yourself! It is very important and healthy to build relationships therefore fellowship because it is really good for us all. When we fellowship, we build each other up! 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing. Remember Iron sharpens Iron!
Psalm 133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Whilst getting busy is usually the order of the day, having good rest should not be neglected. Rest is good for the Body, Mind and Soul. Psalm 127:2 In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat– for he grants sleep to those he loves. Even God knows the value of rest, learn form the Master Himself! Give yourself the chance to be able to breathe in a world where everyone seems to be in a hurry and exhausted.
Genesis 2:2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Our answers, our choices, and our decisions depend on the way we perceive things and if we are willing to be obedient to the voice of God. We are what is right or what is wrong with the world depending on how we choose to perceive things.
