The senior pastor at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, Greg Laurie revealed the “one prayer” he believes every Christian should pray over America (A Prayer for Spiritual Awakening).
“We should all be praying that God sends a great spiritual awakening,” Laurie told The Gospel Herald in an exclusive interview. “We need to pray 2nd Chronicles 7:14 over our nation: ‘If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.'”
We most certainly agree that we all need to pray not only for America but for all Nations for a spiritual awakening, because we desperately need one right now. America needs to repent and come back to God like a prodigal son to his Father.
In another interview with The Christian Post, Laurie warned that America isn’t morally gone quite as far as Europe – but is well on its way. As one of the staff member of I’m a Christian and I’m proud based in Europe, I would second this and agree that america still has hope, but we need to pray earnestly.
Many people in Europe are overly concerned with political correctness that even the Church has bowed down to this secular pressure and is timid about preaching the gospel Wholly. Can we ever come back from this, we can only hope and pray and ask our fellow brothers and sister in the USA to pray for us. Pastor Laurie also announced earlier this week that Harvest Christian Fellowship has officially joined the Southern Baptist Convention, the nation’s largest denomination of churches, in an effort to “do everything possible to prepare the ground for” revival.
We stand with Pastor Greg and Harvest Christian Fellowship in this fight and will continue to lift them up in prayer.
