Boys can wear Skirts and Dresses!
A few weeks or so ago John Lewis announced their gender-less clothes by getting rid of the boys and girls labels to their apparel in their bid to support the gender neutral agenda. The church of England (CofE) has now followed suit by announcing that Boys should be allowed to wear girls clothes to combat bullying of transgendered people.
The CofE has published a guidance to cover all their schools in the U.K which was released advising them to update their “outdated” views as a means of combating homophobia and bullying. The publication says that children should be at peace when exploring and identifying prospects of who they are without judgement.
It talks about how childhood is not a permanent stage of life therefore children cant be expected to conform to ideologies of permanence at such a young age. It says children should be afforded liberty at that “Trying on” stage of life, therefore it is not necessary for us to be fixated on adult labels.
One of the major changes within this publication is the removal of gender fixated uniforms. Boys are allowed to wear girls dresses in order to make Trans students feel welcomed. They have also advised for changes to be made in toilets so they become gender neutral. The Archbishop of Canterbury has approved these changes by saying that the document helps spread the ‘Christian message of love, joy and celebration of our humanity’. This is only the beginning because they are also considering worship material for transgendered people.
By no means should we bully people who have made whatever choices for their life and how they choose to live, but why should the church compromise on matters that are very clear in the bible. If the word of God is truly our guidance, why then are we not sticking to Gods word for governance on such matters.
My only question is where do we draw the line on what is acceptable and what is not?
