Good Friday, It Is Finished

It’s a Good Friday today. – Opinion Post

It’s a Good Friday. Rejoice, It is finished.

Rejoice that Christ paid it all and there is nothing to be sorrowful about on such a glorious day?

Christ gave his life so we may live  and that in itself is worthy of celebration.

On this Good Friday let us remember the sacrifice Jesus made so that our sins may be forgiven.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

The death of Jesus Christ is the fulfillment in history of the very mind and intent of God.

There is no place for seeing Jesus Christ as a martyr. His death was not something that happened to Him

It’s not something that might have been prevented. His death was the very reason He came.

John 10:10b,

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

It Is Finished

The Greek word for “It is Finished” is Tetelelstai. It means payment made in full.

When Jesus said these words, he was speaking to the world the debt of our sin had been paid in full by his work on the cross.

Jesus had made the payment with his body and God was pleased with that as a payment.

Stop living in shame and celebrate the goodness of God over your life.

Seek Him this Good Friday

Matthew 7:7 says “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

Today celebrate that God’s love isn’t a passive kind of love.

He came down into the middle of our mess to show us exactly how much we are worth to Him

Commune with him and seek Him while He may be found.
