I am not ashamed to be a Christian nor will I ever be, but I am ashamed of the way the world has changed and how everything has become about political correctness causing some of us to be isolated and alienated. I am not surprised anymore that some people behave weird once I say I am of the Christian Faith.
Mark 13:13 Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
It saddens me that the world has come to place where Christians cannot celebrate being believers. It seems more and more people are interested in separatism and division than in unity and connections. Almost daily I encounter people who focus on what makes us different instead of what unites us (Gods Love). The minute I say I’m a Christian and celebrate my faith, I made to feel like I have to go back in a cocoon. I love interacting with people form all walks of life and do my best to impact them by sharing the Love of Jesus whilst loving them out of their sin.
However it seems that these days you cannot point out truth and tell people the word including fellow Christians who deny the word as the ultimate truth. What then do we do in a world where we are made to feel like we have to accept everyone else’s lifestyle even if it is contrary to what the bible teaches? However this week I have been encouraged with Franklin Graham standing up for Christians when he told the LGBT community of how they continually target Christians “to try to get us to accept their lifestyle” Like he my question has been and continues to be “Why can’t Christians have the freedom to say ‘No’ to what they want to say no to?” being honest in a non malicious manner, He further said “God calls homosexuality sin-take it up with Him if you don’t like it,” he continued. “He is the one who defines sin, not me.” Franklin Graham said that as a Christian, “of course I don’t hate gays.” Rather, he loves them and wants them to know the truth of the gospel.
Whilst my post is not about Homosexuality, I am just using the above scenario to shade light to the plight that many Christians face in today’s world but also highlighting how we as believers have become a thorn in our side by fighting against one another and against the very principals (the bible) that are to be our guide. I hope we will all be found not wanting because the bible warns;
For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions. 2 Timothy 4:3
