I absolutely enjoy exchanging dialogue with people from all walks of life and it is always interesting when we discuss the direction of the church and the “Millennial conformist agenda” as people call it. I recently saw a forum where people were discussing the Church’s stand on issues that are affecting the christian faith. Some within the forum expressed confusion as to why the church is watering down the word and no longer preaching an undiluted gospel, whilst some felt it was time the church moved with the times.
Someone within the forum said “God loves us just the way we are so why should anyone try to change us, we should simply come as we are?” This comment for me was one that stood out as I felt torn because I believe that we indeed should come as we are but I also believe that we should be ready for change and transformation. Its like going into a university classroom to grow intellectually but expecting the teacher to keep the knowledge bank minimal to a nursery level. We cannot continue to have people believe that they can keep doing wrong and it be fine. I believe that where God’s presence is chains have to be loosed and people set free from whatever has them bound.
I also believe as Romans 12:2 says “2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” The church cannot become so timid and allow worldly standard to dictate to them whats acceptable or not. The church has to return to a place of clarity and courage and not just that but sound doctrine.
Has the church become so watered down, what are your thoughts?
God bless you
