Jeremiah 29:11 New King James Version (NKJV)

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Many of us love this scripture, as a matter of fact it is one of my favourite scriptures. God has a plan is something I have heard all my life. It is so much a part of what I believe and even I have used it to encourage others over the years. Knowing God has a plan for us is such a comfort, right.

But, what happens when that comfort causes you to become stale, with no movement in the name of “Faithing it” as people commonly call it. Many people do not fulfil purpose because they are waiting on God in faith and believe me there is nothing wrong with having faith; but we need to have pro-active faith. There is no way God would put a dream in your heart and not provide you with all necessary tools and resources to fulfil it. It is important for us as a body to stop functioning on dead faith.

James 2:14-26 New King James Version (NKJV)

Faith Without Works Is Dead:

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?

We learn here that faith without works is dead. Many of us have settled at “I can do all thing…” But have you ever considered that many of us are going around carrying weight that is beyond our ability because of trying to do “all things”. Just because;

Philippians 4:13 New King James Version (NKJV) says;

“13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

It does not mean its a license to go about doing all things. Not everything was meant for us to execute. It is important to know and understand our assignment that way if we are going to do “all things”, let it be all things within divine alignment or rather to make it plain and simple (all things that God has intended for us).

I remember once having a conversation with one of my mentee’s who at a certain point in her life went through what she calls “an entitled phase” where she felt like she could just fold her hands and things would happen supernaturally because ‘God had a plan for her’. She didn’t think that she needed to put in the work because it was God who had the plan for her after all; but came to realise how wrong she had been.

Everyone is entitled to choose to either learn the easy way or the hard way. many people go through life wondering when God is going to (“come down from heaven”) and step into their situation and make their life better. To begin with, that is where we are getting it wrong because God is always there for us, the question however should be, are we paying attention?

God had equipped us all with all necessary tools and resources but we just need to pay attention to His voice. John 10:27 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” I hope and pray that you will live out your best blessed life this year onward.  I pray that you will be striving for the full potential of all God made you to be.
