Students across Kentucky are coming together in support of the victims of Tuesday’s tragic school shooting.
A 15-year-old student gunman in Benton, Kentucky targeted students with a pistol just before 8 a.m. in the common area of Marshall County High School. Whilst he murdered two students and injured 18 more in a bid to deter people from expressing their faith, it has not worked.
Many students across Kentucky are wearing the school’s colours and flooding social media platforms with encouraging words, but even many more at several different high school have opted to gather together in prayer.
Neighbouring school students at Paducah Tilghman High School, stood in solidarity by organising a prayer circle on Wednesday morning in sub-freezing temperatures and were joined by peers from the victimised school.
It has been amazing to see the support of the community extending far and wide with many students recounting the events of what happened that day and expressing, “You never think it’ll happen to you, until it does.” Students, teachers and staff at other schools around the state have joined in prayer and stood in solidarity with the victim school, while wearing Marshall County High’s colours of blue and orange.
