Nigerian megachurch preacher TB Joshua dies after church program

Nigerian megachurch preacher TB Joshua, one of Africa’s most influential evangelists, has died at the age of 57.

Just a week shy of his 58th Birthday, The official TB Joshua Facebook page confirmed to the world; “God has taken His servant“.

The influential preacher died on Saturday shortly after conducting a live broadcast, but the cause of his death has not been made public.

TB Joshua was born on June 12, 1963. His birth deemed a ‘miracle child’ after claims he was in his mother’s womb for 15 months.

As a young man he spoke of heavenly visions from God, having also proclaimed that he was ‘prophesied’ 100 years prior.

One of those visions led him to form his own ministry called The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in 1987.

TB Joshua’s rise to prominence in the late 1990’s coincided with the explosion of “miracle” TV programs by various pastors.

Since then, it is said many have witnessed and testified to all manner of illnesses including HIV/Aids healed.

People came from all over the world to attend his weekly services in Nigeria’s biggest city, Lagos.
