On Monday, Crowds were out in their multitudes supporting ECG Pastor Bushiri and his wife Mary, as they made a brief appearance in the Pretoria Specialized Commercial Crimes Court where their case was postponed a further three days to allow further investigations. This meant that the couple would spend two more nights behind bars, after being remanded in custody until another hearing set for Wednesday. Many questioned whether these charges brought against them were justified or simply just a witch hunt due to the success of their ministry.
One user on twitter wrote;
“South Africans, when will we learn to be accommodating of foreigners doing well in our land and stop attacking them, where we have failed. Lets us stop this maliciousness”
Today, supporters came out in their multitudes, including Pastor Mboro who has stood in support of the ECG leader and his wife demanding that they be released and charges dropped.
Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary, were on Wednesday granted bail of R100,000 each.
On hearing of their pending release on bail, the hundreds of supporters lifted their hands to the sky and bowed to the ground. Chanting, dancing, praying and crying ensued.
“Daddy is out, yay…,” one congregant cheered.
The crowd said they anticipate Prophet Bushiri will address them at a church service scheduled for later on Wednesday.
No one knows whether these charges are justified or simply a witch-hunt, time will tell. The church in South Africa has been under attack for a while now, and it would appear this may be just the beginning.
Ephesians 6:18 In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.
