Romans 8:17 New International Version (NIV)
17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
This is a season of becoming everything God has called us to be. We are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ and yet many of us are living in fear because of the uncertainty that seems to be looming around. However, 2 Timothy 1:7 reads;
‘For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of:
It is so easy to be sidetracked, uneasy or even left with so many questions in this season because the enemy is stirring trouble. There is so much chaos building up in in various forms in all the different nations of the world and COVID-19 instilling fear in many. The enemy must be happy wherever he is, because he thrives when he sees the Children of God falling to victim-hood. The word of God however tells us that God has given us POWER. Yes, power to overcome even the fear of the Coronavirus. The media may be feeding us a lot of negativity, but this is time for us to arise in power and proclaim the Good-news like never before.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the POWER that works within us,
Love comes from God.
Jesus responded by saying the greatest commandment was “And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Maybe there was a time you’ve always wanted to reach out to your neighbours but were too shy and afraid of the response, let me encourage you that there’s no better time than now, to love on your neighbours. There is also no better time than now, to love on God. Let us use this season to press into the presence of God and dwell in the secret place. Let us reach out to those we have not spoken to in a long time and make amends. Send that email and make that call.
With many nations under lockdown, many of us have so much time on our hands. What are we doing with all that time? Are we allowing ourselves to get sucked into life’s issues and therefore losing all self-control or are we utilising this time to seek the Lord? Do not allow yourself to fall victim to getting caught up in negative cycles. Instead, use this time to gain clarity and therefore BECOME what God intended for you to become. Its okay to watch a movie, read the news, catch up with friends or play a video game, however, don’t sleep on what is important and that is cultivating your relationship with GOD.
Utilise this season to BECOME. He has already made you heirs and co-heirs and its time for you to grab this and run with it. As you realise the POWER he has given you, the ability to LOVE and best of all a SOUNDMIND to reason and make the right decisions, Grow in HIM. In this season, don’t be double minded who is unstable in all his ways.
God bless you
