Trust In You Is the Fourth Song from Homegrown Worship

Trust In You is the fourth song to be shared by the new song community Homegrown Worship. Combining simple melodic hooks with acoustic elements, the recording is a refreshingly vulnerable song of worship.

Written by Andy Baker on his trusted ukulele, the arrangement was recorded spontaneously in the studio to allow space for reflection and instrumental breaks. The lyrics ponder the question of whether there is an alternative to trusting in God, and in a personal style the verses unpack the downsides of when we try to ‘stand alone’.

Songwriters are being invited to share their own homegrown songs and recordings with the community at in a bid to unearth new songs that can be shared with a wider audience. Recent lyric videos have received over 10,000 views on social media demonstrating the keen appetite for new songs around the globe.

Having gained support from ICIP Media and Christian radio stations in the UK, every Thursday evening the latest Homegrown Worship songs are premiered on UCB2 as part of the Live Praise show.

The story behind the the song

If we don’t trust in God, what can we trust in?

Our Money? The value of cash and assets are constantly changing and the love money is the root of all kinds of evil. Jesus said that it’s impossible to serve both God and money.

Our Health? Our bodies are all deteriorating and we will all eventually pass from this life… health will eventually fail regardless of what you eat and how often you exercise.

Our Reputation? Jesus was hailed as a hero one week as he rode into Jerusalem and then a week later crucified based on public opinion. The press love to build up personalities and then crush them… it’s dangerous to allow people to decide your value and worth.

After considering the alternatives I’ve decided that I will actively put my trust in God.
