Coronavirus (Covid-19) has affected the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and also U.K Health Secretary Matt Hancock.
Mr Johnson said he developed mild Coronavirus – covid19 symptoms over the past 24 hours, including a temperature and cough.
He said he will now self-isolate in No 10 but will “continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus”.
Mr Johnson was last seen on Thursday night, as he clapped outside No 10 as part of a nationwide gesture to thank NHS staff for the amazing work they do and sacrifice during this coronavirus pandemic.
The announcement that Health Secretary Matt Hancock has tested positive for coronavirus also came an hour after it was announced that Prime Minister Boris Johnson also has the virus.
Mr Hancock tweeted: “Following medical advice, I was advised to test for #Coronavirus. I‘ve tested positive. Thankfully my symptoms are mild and I’m working from home & self-isolating. Vital we follow the advice to protect our NHS & save lives.
He said in a video message that he would be self-isolating until next Thursday.
“Fortunately for me the symptoms so far have been very mild so I’ve been able to carry on with the work driving forward the UK response.
