Whose your God?

There are times you want to share somethings but become hesitant due to the rapid changes that are happening in the world, including the church. In a bid to be politically correct many find themselves silent even in the face of things that break the Fathers heart. Lately i find that truth has become a distant cousin to the church at large. We are slowly allowing secularism to overtake the church.

However a little truth with love doesn’t have to hurt but should rather nourish one’s soul. At a mentoring seminar I recently attended, a question was thrown at me pertaining to what my opinion was about the current state of the church. The view put across was to the effect that the church is serving two masters and how can that be acceptable. Many feel that the church has become a slave to the world system and many Pastors simply are afraid to preach truth and therefore deliver diluted sermons that are not life changing. Let us look at what the word of God says;

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Matt 6:24

Everyday each and everyone of us is faced with choices and within those choices that we make we also make decision about who we will serve. For many of us including pastors those choices are faced even several times within a day. The actions we then choose to execute from the choices we make determine whether we are for Gods agenda or the Devils agenda.  The bible says we cannot have nor serve two masters, we all must choose. As Kingdom citizen’s we have to boldly and unashamedly make a decision to stand for truth no matter the cost because whatever you allow to rule you you become a slave to and it your master.

The church has to come to place where we represent the KING and his Kingdom correctly and not fear what man will say. The bible says judgement will begin in the House of God. If we are here to do Gods work and yet preaching half truths, how can we truly effect positive change in the world. We as the body of Christ should be a shining light to the nations and exemplary. Anytime we find ourselves compromising to suit the worlds narrative of what God finds as acceptable then we have a problem. We should always seek to please the father and be about His business and not worldly agendas.

Let us continue to meditate on the word of God and seek truth and guidance daily.

God bless you and please leave your thoughts in the comments below.
